How To Calculate its energy needs

The individual energy demand is primarily dependent on very many factors metabolic energy expenditure and feeding. A rough approximation for the basal metabolic demand is given with the Harris-Benedict formula that takes into account (at least) the sex, height, body weight and age:
• For women: BMR = 655.095 + ( 9.5634 * Weight in kg) +
+ (1.8496 * Height in cm) - (4.6756 * Age in years)
• For men: BMR = 66.473 + (13.7516 * weight in kg) + (5.0033 * Height in cm) - (6.775 * age in years)
• For children: BMR = 22.10 + (31.05 * weight in kg) + (1.16 * Height in cm) If you are interested

instead determine how much protein you need daily: you have to multiply your body weight for an index that varies depending on your lifestyle
- intense physical activity: 1.9
- regular physical activity: 1.3
- low physical activity: 1.0
This gives the weight in grams of protein needed.
