The new economy of our time is surely capitalism, but capitalism a new genre depends on innovation as a source of productivity growth from the global financial markets linked by computer networks, whose policies are influenced by information turbulences; Retif by the production and management, internal and external, locally and globally, and a workforce that is flexible and adaptable. The creators of value must be able to develop individual self, and transforming information into knowledge. The generic workers, reduced to the role of performers must be prepared to adapt to the needs of the network, otherwise they are replaced by machines or alternative work forces.
In this system, in addition to the retention of exploitation in the traditional sense, the key issue for the workforce is segmented into three categories:
- those that are a source of innovation and value
- those that are simple executors of instructions
- those that are structurally irrelevant
